Medical Director

Barbara Hartley, M.D.

Barbara Hartley, M.D., epitomizes compassion and dedication in a healer. She graduated from the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson, and her journey into medicine is a testament to service and lifelong learning. For over two and a half decades, Dr. Hartley has been an integral part of Benson's medical community, serving tirelessly in office and hospital settings, extending her care even beyond conventional boundaries through house calls. With roots firmly planted in Benson, she embodies the essence of community, creating bonds of trust and reliability with each patient she encounters.
Currently, a hospitalist at Benson Hospital, Dr. Hartley not only tends to the medical needs of her patients but is also the administrative director of medicine and medical director of the hospital's three clinics. Dr. Hartley’s skills as a physician guaranteed she could have worked anywhere in Arizona. But, instead of taking a job in Tucson or Phoenix she dedicated her life to caring for the people of the San Pedro Valley. Her unwavering commitment to the people of her community has literally impacted generations of families.
Dr. Hartley’s journey to becoming a small-town doctor was not conventional, with prior experiences ranging from instructing microbiology at Pima College to practicing as a registered nurse and even working as a farrier. Yet, it was in the calling of medicine that she found her true purpose, enriching the lives of those around her with each diagnosis, treatment, and comforting presence. In her serene dedication to the well-being of Benson's residents, Dr. Hartley finds fulfillment, cherishing every moment as the embodiment of the ideal small-town doctor.

Lisa Glass

Lisa Glass, like many exceptional health care professionals, always knew she wanted to serve her community. From a young age she was driven by a need to help heal others and wanted to make a career out of it.Glass began her journey in health care when she graduated from Adelphi University as a registered nurse. After working in the profession, she decided she wanted to do more to help her patients and returned to school to pursue an advanced degree as a nurse practitioner.Since graduating, Glass focuses deeply on working with her patients to prevent and manage chronic diseases. She works hard to help individuals reach their own best possible state of health.
In her youth, Glass was a competitive athlete, giving her a unique perspective on the role good nutrition and exercise play in a person’s health. In fact, staying active and eating a healthy diet are the two things she recommends to all her patients. When not at work, she spends time with family or takes her own advice by being active. She particularly enjoys hiking the local trails and practicing yoga.

She finds fulfilment in providing care to people and has a particular interest in working with older patients.Dr. Murray completed medical school at Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2008 and did her residency in Lawson, Oklahoma.Becoming a physician was not the first time she felt called to serve others. After being exposed to osteopathic medicine in 1998, Dr. Murray fell in love with the idea of treating the whole person rather than just the illness.

She looks forward to helping all her patients achieve their health goals. “The practice of medicine is a team sport," she said. "It takes the doctor and patient working together to achieve the goal!”In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, theater, museums and spending time with her Siamese cats. She was drawn to Benson’s small town feel where doctor-patient relationships are valued.

Tracey Tinnon, FNP-BC

Tracey Tinnon is a nurse practitioner with a passion for whole-person care. In fact, the one thing Tinnon wants all her patients to know is that “It’s important to not only take care of yourself physically, but also mentally and spiritually because all three impact your overall health.”Tinnon understands that providing patients with comprehensive health care options close to home is the best way to help them reach their health goals. That belief keeps her learning new procedures that she can do as a primary care provider in her office so that patients don’t need to travel to Tucson. In fact, learning new skills and keeping up with the latest research is what Tinnon loves about practicing medicine.
Tinnon started her health care career right here in Cochise County. In 2004 she graduated from Cochise College with an associate’s degree in nursing. In 2021 she graduated from Grand Canyon University with her family nurse practitioner degree. In addition to her academic work Tinnon has 17 years of practical experience as an emergency room nurse.Tinnon has been a Cochise County resident since 1999, and she loves living in our rural community.
